This piano is a rare 185 cm model from the late 1880's. It has previously been restored with a new pinblock, strings, action restoration with hammers and dampers. A modern action, regulated, ivory keys, aliquot stringing makes this piano perfect for small recital halls, serious pianists or anyone who can appreciate one of the finest products of the golden era of piano building
The Edmund Brown 185cm Chickering was the model used by Glenn Gould in his home. The Edmund Brown action is the reason he loved it, not to mention it's warm tone and huge bass. This is a rare example with a restored Edmund Brown action. The new parts were crafted by hand in our workshop. The 64 faceted pinblock was also replaced. That's 60 more than a Steinway and is a large job. Restrung with Profundo Bass strings and A. Isaac hand made piano hammers
