בניית לוח תהודה 

למה להחליף? 

לוח התהודה הינו לוח עץ גדול ודק, המשמש כמגבר לצליל המיוצר על ידי המיתרים הרוטטים. בניגוד לכינורות וגיטרות, מופעל לחץ עצום על לוח התהודה של פסנתר. כתוצאה מהלחץ הזה ומשינוי טמפרטורה ולחות במהלך השנים, העץ מאבד מהכוח שהיה לו ועלול להיסדק ולאבד את צורתו הקמורה. ניתן לעשות לו שיפוץ קוסמטי ולאטום את הסדקים הללו בכל מיני דרכים. התוצאה יכולה להיות מאוד יפה לאחר השיפוץ, אך מבחינת הצליל, הפסנתר לא ישוב להיות כמו חדש. חסרון נוסף בשיטה הזאת היא שלאחר כמה שנים בודדות יתחילו להופיע סדקים חדשים מסביב לתיקונים שנעשו. 

אז למה לשים מייתרים חדשים ולהתקין פטישים חדשים על פסנתר עם לוח תהודה עייף, כאשר לוח תהודה חדש יחזיק עוד מאה שנים?

We are sending our Chickering 195cm Rosewood grand piano to the Jerusalem Piano Festival for a demonstration and lecture on October 25, 2018 at 17:30. This piano was chosen as it is the same make and model as Glenn Gould‘s personal and favourite piano.

As a friend and colleague of Glenn Gould’s piano technician, Steve Jackson has many insights to Mr. Gould’s preference for this piano and how he adjusted his other pianos.

The Chickering, fully restored by Steve Jackson Pianos, has a hand made Edwin Brown action. This action has a lighter and faster touch than a modern Erard action.

A demonstration of the best romantic music recorded by Gould will be performed to showcase the music and style and piano of Glenn Gould
